BRP manufactures Mil-PRF Nitrile rubber that conforms to US Military specifications. It’s known for its resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbon oils and fuels. Generally, the higher the acrylonitrile (ACN) content, the higher the oil resistance, but the poorer is the low temperature flexibility. As with all things proper compounding is required to achieve the desired balance. It’s commonly known for it has high resilience and high wear resistance. It has poor weathering characteristics.
Mil-PRF Nitrile rubber is available for a range of military and defense applications. This type of Nitrile rubber has excellent stretching capabilities while remaining strong enough to be elastic. Nitrile rubber, also known as Buna N or NBR, will handle most tough industrial environments and moderate to heavy alkaline and chemical resistive situations. Mil-PRF Nitrile rubber is a very durable material for long time use and applications. It is resistant to many chemicals and oil, making it particularly useful for flooring, table tops, machine shops and auto repair shops.
