Premium Grade Nitrile Rubber

BRP’s premium grade nitrile rubber, also known as Buna N or NBR rubber, complies to the standards set forth by ASTM D2000, SAE J200 and Mil-R-3065 applications for the automotive, military, and aerospace industries. They have high resistance to petroleum based fluids including hydrocarbons fats, oils, grease standard hydraulic fluids and chemicals and are often used with various fuels types.

Premium grade nitrile rubber is a high quality sheet with excellent fuel and oil resistant qualities, however it’s not recommended for use in applications requiring weathering and UV resistance. Premium grade nitrile rubber is formulated to provide maximum oil resistance.

While the cost of premium grade nitrile rubber is slightly higher, this is offset by longer service life in demanding applications.

Its resilience makes premium grade nitrile rubber a useful material for applications such as automotive transmission belts, hoses, O-rings, gaskets, oil seals and much more. While it has superior strength, its flexibility is limited. It’s the polymer of choice for oil and solvent resistance.

Additional properties of premium grade nitrile rubber include excellent resistance to fuel, petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, hydrocarbon solvents, alkalis, acids and accommodates a wide range of service temperatures. All BRP rubber products are American-made in their Lima, Ohio facility.
