Mil-PRF Neoprene Rubber – Class 2

BRP manufactures Mil-PRF Neoprene rubber that’s petroleum, oil, weather and ozone resistant. This neoprene conforms to Type A High Ozone Concentration and Type B Low Ozone Concentration specifications.

Neoprene offers a perfect balance of mechanical properties and fatigue resistance that’s second only to natural rubber. Compared to natural rubber, Mil-PRF Neoprene rubber has superior chemical, oil, and heat resistance properties. Mil-PRF Neoprene rubber is less resistant to low temperature stiffening than natural rubber, but with proper compounding can achieve improved low temperature resistance.

Mil-PRF Neoprene rubber is widely used in general engineering applications. It has good ozone resistance and is suitable for use with mineral oils, greases and dilute acids and alkalis. It should not be used in applications with exposure to fuel. It has generally poorer set and creep than natural rubber.
