Gray Epichlorihydrin Rubber

Gray Epichlorohydrin Rubber (ECH / ECO) retains all of the properties of the standard black epichlorohydrin rubber (ECH / ECO), with the exception of its distinguishable light gray color. It’s a cost-effective polymer that bridges the gap between nitrile and considerably more expensive polymers.

Gray epichlorohydrin rubber (ECH / ECO) provides superior strength against tears and resistance. Among its many beneficial properties include good resistance to bio-fuel and abrasion.

Gray Epichlorohydrin rubber (ECH / ECO) has low gas permeability and better low temperature flexibility than Nitrile (NBR). It exhibits excellent resistance to acids, alkalis and ozone exposure. Typical working temperatures range from -35°C to +125°C.

Military Grade FKM Rubber

BRP manufactures military specification FKM rubber that meets Mil-R-83248 Type 2 Class 1 specifications. Military specification FKM rubber is known for its heat resistance (400°F/200°C) and resistance to flame propagation, ozone and weather. Our Mil-R-83248 Type 2 Class 1 FKM rubber is highly resistant to tough aromatic fuels, petroleum oils, chlorinated solvents animal and vegetable oil.

Mil-R-83248 Type 2 Class 1 military specification FKM rubber is not recommended for applications with exposure to acids and steam. Military specification FKM rubber is attacked by highly polar fluids such as ketones, hydrazine, anhydrous ammonia and Skydrol (phosphate ester) hydraulic fluids.

BRP’s military specification FKM rubber also conforms to the stringent requirement of Westinghouse 45351HG for use in transformer sealing. Military specification FKM rubber is available in rolls and sheets in thicknesses from 1/32″ through ½”.

FDA Approved EPDM Rubber

BRP manufactures white FDA approved EPDM rubber compliant with FDA-standards per CFR 177.2600 Title 21. This non-marking, non-toxic rubber is made from premium grade EPDM sheet rubber and exhibits the white color commonly associated with food-grade rubber.

White FDA approved EPDM rubber is typically used for general gaskets commonly used in food processing operations. BRP’s white FDA approved EPDM rubber complies with all of the FDA standards set forth by CFR 177.2600 Title 21.

To ensure the highest safety, the FDA sets strict standards for the food processing industry. These standards include requirements for rubber used in all operations. The FDA requires that food processing rubber be manufactured with specific FDA-approved ingredients.

Peroxide Cured EPDM Rubber

Peroxide Cure EPDM rubber offers many of the same great properties of premium grade EPDM rubber, with enhanced temperature and compression set qualities. Peroxide Cure EPDM rubber also offers resistance to steam, and is the premium choice for applications subject to weathering.

Peroxide Cure EPDM rubber provides select chemical resistance and is recommended for hot water, alcohols, ketones, engine coolants, organic and inorganic acids and bases. Premium grade EPDM rubber is not resistant to mineral oils, greases and fuels. Depending on the application, EPDM rubber can be cured with sulphur or peroxide.

FKM Viton Rubber

FKM Viton® rubber, also known as Fluorocarbon rubber, is known for its excellent oil and air resistance properties. FKM Viton rubber has excellent resistance to high temperatures, ozone, oxygen, mineral oil, synthetic hydraulic fluids, fuels, aromatics and many organic solvents and chemicals. Extreme temperature and nearly legendary oil and fuel resistance makes FKM Viton rubber the choice for some of the toughest applications.

Depending on the grade, FKM Viton® rubber can operate continuously in excess of 200°C / 392 F° with intermittent spikes as high as 300°C / 570°F. Proper selection and compounding can provide low temperature resistance as well. It also possesses low gas permeability, low compression set and good mechanical properties.

FKM Viton® rubber is commonly used in aircraft engines, automotive fuel handling systems and high chemical exposure applications. FKM Viton® rubber is typically good with most chemicals and acids, but it’s good practice to check your Chemical Resistance Guide.

FKM Viton® rubber is attacked by amines, strong alkalis and many Freon’s. It also has limited resistance to steam, hot water, methanol, ketones, low molecular weight esters and nitro containing compounds like Skydrol, synthetic hydraulic fluids, certain esters and ethers.

Premium Grade EPDM Rubber

Premium grade EPDM rubber is the best water resistant rubber on the market. BRP manufactures premium grade EPDM rubber that is highly UV, ozone and weather resistant. Premium grade EPDM rubber also provides exceptional resistance to most water-based chemicals and vegetable-based oils.

All premium grade EPDM rubber produced by BRP conform to the standards set forth by ASTM D2000, SAE J200 and Mil-R-3065 for applications in the automotive, military, and aerospace industries. Intended uses for EPDM rubber include less critical applications where temperatures are of an intermittent nature.
